The Emilie Center, located at 1920 10th Avenue South in Great Falls, and the St. Jude Conference fall under the umbrella of the St. Martin de Porres Mission, each helping families of Great Falls and surrounding areas in different ways. Items needed to make a household run can be provided at the Emilie Center. Unlike other organizations, such as St. Vincent de Paul, Salvation Army, or Goodwill, there is no charge for anything in the store.
In order to shop at the Emilie Center, customers have to obtain a voucher from an outside organization or local churches; however, if someone cannot obtain a voucher, it can be done at the store as well.
St. Jude’s does home visits to the families to establish their “life requirements.” Occasionally, St. Jude’s can provide some rent money, food and help with utilities before sending them to the Emilie Center to complete their requests.
St. Jude Conference and Emilie Center are operated by volunteers (see photos) and are always happy to have more help. Anyone who wants to volunteer or donate can call the Emilie Center from 9:00 a.m. to noon, or 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday at 771-6695, or contact St. Jude Conference at 788-2291.
