On Friday, May 12th of Mother’s Day weekend, St. Vincent Healthcare, now part of Intermountain Health, and the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings hosted a Mass of Remembrance at Holy Cross Cemetery. Mass was dedicated to parents who have lost a child. Nurses, caregivers and allied healthcare workers of St. Vincent Healthcare gathered with parents and patients from across the Diocese to honor life and live our Catholic mission: “We reveal and foster God’s healing love by improving the health of the people and the communities we serve, especially those who are poor and vulnerable.”

Fr. Leo McDowell, pastor of St. Patrick Co-Cathedral presided at the Mass and shared words of consolation After Mass a reception and luncheon was held on the grounds and Elizabeth Johnston of St. Thomas the Apostle Church shared a deeply moving witness to her own traumatic stillbirth and courageous journey of hope in honor of her daughter, Charlotte Grace Johnston, who would have celebrated her 8th Birthday on that day.
