June 23-25, 2022, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish hosted a visit of the relics of St Bernadette. The blessings to our parish and community were felt before, during and continue now after the visit! A Mass of Reception of the Relics celebrated Wednesday, June 22, with Bishop Warfel, Fr. Alphonsus Enelichi, and Deacon Ed Malone of Glasgow. Individuals and families came from Seattle, Kennewick, Coeur d’Alene, Boise, parts of Wyoming, and from the farthest corners of Montana.
On Thursday, June 23, 2022, Volunteers from Friends of Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto presented a Virtual Pilgrimage to Lourdes, France. They brought rocks from the Grotto and water from the spring for all present to experience. Tears of joy flowed as pilgrims young and old were blessed.
On our last evening with the relics we asked a few parishioners who had been to Lourdes to share their experiences. Others also volunteered their experiences. We followed this time of sharing with a Eucharistic Procession while praying the rosary. Upon returning to the church, we finished the rosary and final blessing.
Each day, the women from our Parish Council of Catholic Women provided receptions of food and drink so people could visit and meet all those traveling to experience the miracle of St Bernadette’s relics.
